Having clean water is important to the environment. All private water systems being used for drinking water (this includes new wells, existing wells being connected to new dwellings, and ponds) must have a permit through the health department.
Putnam County Health Department can collect water samples for testing through a state accredited lab. PCHD can also do basic water system inspections.
